Upper Valley Men Charged With Heroin Possession

Vermont State Police  issued the following press release concerning two Upper Valley men charged with possession of 86 bags of heroin found during a traffic stop in Windham County:

DATE/TIME:7-3-12/1500 hours

LOCATION (specific): I-91 NB Brattleboro

VIOLATION: Possession of Heroin

ACCUSED: Zachary Riley

AGE: 26

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Hartford VT

ACCUSED: Daniel Degasta

AGE: 34

CITY, STATE OF RESIDENCE: Norwich VT

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT: On 7-3-12, Troopers from the Vermont State Police Traffic Operations Team stopped Riley for a minor motor vehicle violation. Investigation revealed that Riley and his passenger were in possession of 86 bags of heroin. Riley and his passenger Degasta were arrested and charged with the offense.

    this makes me extremely sad. i always think of vermont as my refuge and sanctuary away from all the ugliness of the big city.
