While Dems Play in Charlotte, Repubs Hunker Down Here

Here you go, Woodstock Early Birds, as the Democratic National Convention gets underway in Charlotte, North Carolina, here in little ‘ole Vermont we have a bunch of hubbub of the “hurry-up-and-wait” variety as local press (including Woodstock Early Bird) stake themselves out at the end of driveways  in hopes of getting pictures, interviews, or even — God Forbidnews out of Republican Presidential Nominee Mitt Romney.

The Massachusetts-Michigan-Utah politician is now wrapped in a green rainy day mist at the home of his former Massachusetts Lt. Gov.  Kerry Healey, technically in West Windsor, but closer to South Woodstock than Brownsville.  Kinda’ boring out there at the end of the road, although not an unpleasant day for a low-key stake-out. We love our Vermont State Police who are firmly in place supported by our own U.S. Secret Service and a dog or two.  A coupla’ scenes from the stake-outs:

NECN chats with Vermont State Police

WCAX reporter Adam Sullivan “chills” in his news van waiting for Mitt Romney to emerge from the Healey Estate

Fox Cable News got permission for a set-up on the Village Green although Town Manager Phil Swanson apparently questioned the structure being placed without permit.
