NWS: “Glaze” Possible Tonight and Sunday Night

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHERN NEW YORK…CENTRAL
VERMONT…NORTHEAST VERMONT…NORTHWEST VERMONT AND SOUTHERN
VERMONT.

.DAY ONE…THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

A WARM FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT.
PERIODS OF LIGHT MIXED PRECIPITATION ARE EXPECTED TO AFFECT THE
REGION…MAINLY ACROSS CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN VERMONT.

UP TO A HALF INCH OF SNOW AND SLEET AND A LIGHT GLAZE OF ICE IS POSSIBLE IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN VERMONT…WITH LITTLE TO NO IMPACTS EXPECTED
ELSEWHERE.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN…SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY.

THE FRONTAL BOUNDARY WILL PUSH THROUGH THE REGION ON SATURDAY…
CONTINUING THE CHANCE FOR LIGHT MIXED PRECIPITATION TO THE AREA
IN THE MORNING…WITH A CHANGE OVER TO RAIN SHOWERS BY
THE AFTERNOON.

THE PRECIPITATION MAY END AS SOME SNOW SHOWERS
SATURDAY NIGHT.

A STRONGER WARM FRONT WILL APPROACH THE REGION SUNDAY NIGHT INTO
MONDAY.

LOW LEVEL TEMPERATURES WILL ONCE AGAIN SUPPORT THE IDEA OF
MIXED PRECIPITATION…BUT UNLIKE FRIDAY NIGHT WHERE THE
PRECIPITATION WILL BE LIGHT…STEADIER PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED
SUNDAY NIGHT INTO MONDAY…WHICH COULD MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT FOR
THE MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE.
