Sandy Relief Truck in Woodstock

Woodstock Early Birds….you may have seen a truck inthe Pizza Chef and Woodstock Hardware parking lot…It is meant to be filled with furniture, appliances and anything you think is needed to outfit a place.

This truck is the work of another local group trying to help those “down South” who lost much as a result of Hurricane Sandy. This group is still looking for donations. NO CLOTHES. Big Box Gift Cards are a YES (say for Home Depot, Walmart etc.). Woodstock’s Joanne Boyle checked in with this letter last night:

Dear friends,

You may be watching the 12-12-12 concert for Sandy relief on TV as I write
this tonight. What amazing music and heartbreaking stories. The people of NY and NJ need US! So just a quick note tonight:

We got a message today that *1000 Christmas trees* were donated to Staten
Island families so they need lots of *tree stands, ornaments and
lights.*And remember we are also collecting *unwrapped gifts for kids*, too. Please put these items on your lists?

We are now collecting these items to send down on our truck on Sunday along
with our other requests: Still, no clothing, *but more space heaters, HOUSEHOLD BASICS, furniture, mattresses, bedding (except blankets), large and small kitchen appliances,
linens, towels, car seats, and strollers, bicycles. What ever you would
want if you lost everything in your yard, basement and first floor!

As you probably know by now, our trailer is behind Pizza Chef and Woodstock
Home & Hardware on route 4E in Woodstock with a BIG SIGN.

We also have a drop off at *“Lukana’s Dream” at 285 Main Street in Bethel.

*Please remember:

*FINANCIAL DONATIONS* (tax-deductible) and* GIFT CARDS* from ‘big box’
stores* ARE ESPECIALLY NEEDED! *

Make CHECKS out to *Lukana’s Dream
Company, P.O. Box 17, Bethel, VT 05032*

Please write *‘Sandy Relief’ *in
the memo line please? We will send you a receipt for your records
