SUMMARY OF CRASH: On 12/14/2012 at approximately 1633 hours, VSP Dispatch at the
Rutland barracks received call(s) reference to a two vehicle head on crash on US
Route 4 in Sherburne, just east of the Killington Skyship.

While en route to the scene, Rutland Dispatch provided updates detailing how one
operator was trapped in the vehicle and the DHART helicopter had already been
requested.

It has been determined that Vehicle #1 was traveling westbound on US Route 4
when the vehicle travelled left of the center line into the eastbound lane of US
Route 4. Vehicle #1 collided with Vehicle #2 which subsequently left the roadway
and overturned. The driver of Vehicle #1 was pronounced deceased at the scene
and the operator of Vehicle #2 was airlifted to DHMC for injuries.

At this time, alcohol appears to be factor in this crash. Also still under
investigation is the involvement of the operator of Vehicle #1 having been
involved in a hit and run crash in the Bristol area earlier in the afternoon.
