The South Woodstock Community Pageant

This Sunday, December 23rd, The South Woodstock Community Club hosts South Woodstock’s annual Christmas and Holiday pageant at 4PM at the South Chapel, The South Woodstock Community Church on route 106.

Everyone of every faith and tradition is welcome.

The pageant has a long history in the community going back through a time when local children prepared recitations to be presented in the Grange Hall and before.

It has evolved with the community and now includes messages from several holiday traditions represented here.

Anyone who would like to contribute a piece to the program is welcome to contact Matthew Spittle at 802/457-4574 as soon as possible.

Please leave contact information so we can call you back. angels (2)

Children are especially encouraged to come and participate. If you have a child who would like to be involved in the nativity portion of the program please call and let us know or just bring them to the church at 3PM on Sunday. Michelle Fields will be there to assign parts and costumes.

There will be a community potluck supper at the South Woodstock firehouse following the pageant. The Kedron Valley Inn and The South Woodstock Country Store have contributed turkeys and sides and lots of help. Please bring a side dish or a dessert for 8 or more to share on our holiday buffet.

In keeping with an old community tradition there will be a box at the supper for items for donation to the local food shelf. These were once called “white gifts” as they would be wrapped in white tissue for the purpose. We invite everyone to share their good fortune in this way.
