Woodstock Police Working With High School To Improve Safety

Woodstock Police Chief Robbie Blish and Town Manager Phil Swanson updated Village Trustees last night on renewed efforts to improve and address safety issues that might exist at Woodstock Union Middle and High School in the wake of the Connecticut school shootings.

Blish and Swanson report they are meeting this week with representatives of the company which provides insurance for the schools to review upgrades that can be made to the physical structure as well as guidance for how to deal with what Blish described as “an active shooter.”

The Woodstock Elementary School has already had a visit from Chief Blish and the WES Safety Committee has also met at least once, if not several times, as reported here,  to make sure children are protected as best they can be while they are learning.
