SUMMARY OF CRASH:
State Police responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 91 NB in Windsor, VT. Stevens was traveling north when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a guardrail. The vehicle sustained front end damage and Stevens was not injured.

While on scene, Vehicle 2, operated by Bennett, spun out and struck a guardrail as it approached the scene. The vehicle sustained minor damage as a result of this initial collision.

Vehicle 3, a tractor trailer operated by Fournier, lost control and struck vehicle 2, causing signficant damage to vehicle 2, which was occupied by Bennett. Vehicle 2 was pushed into the rear of a Windsor Fire Department truck that was on scene. Vehicle 3 continued and struck the side of the same fire truck and slid into the guardrails. One firefighter was injured while escaping from the area of the crash.

Vehicle 5 was passing through the scene when it was struck from behind by vehicle 4, which jackknifed. Vehicle 5 was pushed off the road into the median and vehicle 4 then struck the rear of vehicle 3, which had already come to rest.

Operators of vehicle 2 and 5 were transported to Mt Ascutney Hospital with minor injuries. The firefighter was transported to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Interstate 91 northbound was closed between exits 8 and 9 for several hours, and was still closed as of 6;30 a.m. The crashes remain under investigation.
