WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 8 AM
EDT WEDNESDAY…

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BURLINGTON HAS ISSUED A WINTER
STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW…WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT TO 8 AM EDT WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO LONGER
IN EFFECT.

* LOCATIONS…EASTERN ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS…CHAMPLAIN
VALLEY…AND ALL OF CENTRAL AND NORTHERN VERMONT.

* HAZARD TYPES…HEAVY WET SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS…6 TO 12 INCHES OF SNOW ACROSS THE EASTERN
ADIRONDACK MOUNTAINS…CHAMPLAIN VALLEY…AND NORTHEAST
KINGDOM…AND 10 TO 18 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS OF NORTH CENTRAL
VERMONT.

* MAXIMUM SNOWFALL RATE…1 TO 2 INCHES PER HOUR EARLY TUESDAY
MORNING AND AGAIN LATE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

* TIMING…THE FIRST ROUND OF SNOW WILL DEVELOP AROUND MIDNIGHT
TONIGHT AND SPREAD NORTH DURING THE EARLY MORNING HOURS ON
TUESDAY…BEFORE TAPERING OFF TO SCATTERED SNOW SHOWERS MID MORNING.
ADDITIONAL SNOW WILL REDEVELOP…HEAVY AT TIMES LATE TUESDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING…BEFORE TAPERING OFF BY WEDNESDAY.

* IMPACTS…A DIFFICULT MORNING AND EVENING COMMUTE IS EXPECTED ON
TUESDAY. ALSO…GUSTY SOUTHEAST WINDS COMBINED WITH HEAVY WET SNOW
COULD BRING DOWN TREE LIMBS AND PRODUCE SCATTERED POWER OUTAGES.

* WINDS…SOUTHEAST 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH…ALONG
THE WESTERN SLOPES AND EXPOSED HIGHER TERRAIN.

* TEMPERATURES…MID 20S TO MID 30S.

* VISIBILITIES…BELOW ONE HALF OF A MILE AT TIMES LATE TONIGHT
AND TUESDAY.
