Lambs Back to Work at 25 South Street

demo 1Just a brief heads-up for those of you who have noticed the old A&B Garage Building at 25 south Street being taken down. Movement on the vacant site which a few years back was offered for sale to the Town of Woodstock to which residents voted “No, thank you.”

Since then, advocates of expanding Woodstock Elementary School lands adjacent to the existing playground have pushed for another “go”‘ at a Town of Woodstock purchase of the 25 South Street land, but nothing has come of it.

Now, WES efforts appear to be focused on a privately-funded massive improvement of the existing playground black top and land into a “learning landscape.”

After a hiatus in planning for a  four-unit 55+ housing community while they travelled, Bill and Jenny Lamb are back “in the ‘hood” and back to work on their project. We ran into them this morning and they briefly confirmed they are busy with their housing plans for Woodstock  back “on”.

About a year and a half ago, The Lambs described to us at Woodstock Early Bird what their project for new homes (including their own) would look like, including the fact they were well along with remediation of ground pollution left from the site’s former use as a garage.

As an abutter, I’m very glad to hear of the remediation of any ground pollution.
