Ladders Cause Interstate Traffic Hazard

LOCATION: Interstate 89 NB mile marker 15 Sharon (Windsor County) Vermont
VIOLATION: Traffic Hazard

SUMMARY OF INCIDENT:
On this date and time, Vermont State Police received a 911 call advising there were extension ladders in the middle of Interstate 89 northbound at mile marker 15 in the Town of Sharon (Windsor County) Vermont.

While en route, Vermont State Police dispatch received several other calls from people advising that they had struck the ladders and it caused damaged to their vehicles.

Vermont State Police removed the ladders from the Interstate and subsequently assisted two motorists that collided into the ladders.

The two motorists involved in this incident were uninjured and their vehicles had sustained very minor damage.

Vermont State Police would like to remind motorists to make sure all equipment and personal items are properly secured to their vehicles while operating on public highways. Failing to secure loads could result in fines up to $1,191.00.
