Rockefeller Imposter Heading to Prison

The Rockefeller imposter who once duped neighbors throughout the Upper Valley was today sentenced to 27 years to life in prison for a cold case murder in California.

The AP reports Christian Gerhartsreiter
maintained his innocence despite a jury’s finding of guilt in the California murder case.

Woodstock Early Bird once met “Clark Rockefeller” while he hiked on Mt. Tom (at the time still Mary and Laurance Rockefeller’s property) with his gordon setter. Wearing madras shorts, a polo shirt, boat shoes and speaking in lofty tones, he introduced himself as one of the “summering” Rockefellers. We had no reason to believe otherwise and chatted about the merits and demerits of the setter breeds.
